Description

Alright. I was in a roll and I just had to do it. It's annoying how I cant tablet anymore just because. Okay, so when then comes a new character, there is always a new back story.

HEADCANON:

Diwa Tala is the older sister of Juanito. Her name 'Diwa' is translated to 'spirit', given to her by most of the locals in the lower regions of the Philippines (Mindanao area) for the reason that she has never been seen to age at all; a constant to their lives. Her latter name or surname, 'Tala', means 'star' and was given to her on the day that she has met her younger brother who at that time still went by Makisig Tala, The Elegant Star.

Diwa, was an enthusiastic woman as people recalled. She laughed boisterously at the simplest things and liked to travel a lot from place to place within her own borders looking for a fight to keep her in shape. She was known to be a warrior among the neighboring countries who enjoyed a good fight and was never seen without a weapon as well as that odd shaped thing yo-yos she likes to smack people with from a short distance.

Anyway, because of her wanderlust, she had met her little brother in the middle island of the archipelago. The first time she laid her eyes on him, she knew they were kin and since then, she has taken upon herself to take care of him. And to the surprise of the other nations, the kid turned out well despite Diwa's admittedly rough and unethical ways.

In any case, Diwa led a happy life with her little brother and the occasional battles here and there. However, things took a turn for her that eventually led to the collapse of her side of the civilization and her death. This left a heart broken little brother who has spent most of his years with having his neighbors the closest family he has left that doesn't make his insides ache knowing that his sister was gone. Eventually he healed. And then he forgot. This is why there was no mention of 'Diwa Tala' to his 'Papa' Spain nor to his closest foster brother, Mexico. The other neighboring countries who did know of her existence, did not utter a word, considering it as something that will never be brought out on the table so long as it is not needed.

It was perhaps only in the darkest point of his history that the now Juanito Andres Carriedo De la Cruz was reunited with her sister, appearing to him in times that he needed guidance and would occasionally just pop in to see how things were in the modern times which is why she wears what's in the trend. Or just play a prank as to whoever she fancied that moment most of the time it was America.

NOTES

[1] I would conclude that above everything what I said, I would consider Diwa Tala as the pre-colonial Philippines. And because of the small facts that points that pre-colonial Philippines was already civilized in a sense, I would just go right ahead and assume that a lot of things happened before they were conquered. Empires rise and fall and all the jazz.

[2] Juanito only vaguely remembers Diwa Tala as someone he might have known before and would usually get the feeling of de javu and slight nostalgia around her.

[3] The little accessory on her hair is given by someone who she may have had a relationship with, either on a platonic or romantic scale and I don't know who that is.
